Project Control Specialist

Job Summary


The Project Control Specialist (PCS) will support training functions and analysis for the Department of Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy (VAAA) Supply Chain Management School (SCMS)’s programs. The PCS will work with the project manager to manage training schedules, logistic requirements for successful delivery of scheduled courses. The PCS must be able to assist in instructional design, implementation, learning needs, analysis of existing courseware content, researching, and proposing strategies, platforms, and other enhancements of Supply Chain Management courses within the SCMS. **This position will require the PCS to work at the VAAA SCMS Monday - Friday. Flex time may be possible once the position is established.


Key Responsibilities


Review, validate, and approve work performed by instructors prior to submission.
Set up and manage support functions covering planning, tracking, reporting, quality management, and internal communication.
Assist with the evaluation/audits of pilot courses to include the submission of reports.
Continually assess ongoing processes to identify areas for potential improvement. As required, participate in initiatives to improve processes.
Coordinate the printing and delivery of course training manuals and necessary material for classroom instruction for all students.
Manage the project documentation repositories.
Analyze and provide synthesis of key information to managers.
Coordinate with the financial administrators to ensure project invoices are accurately prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
Manage the support and provision of project tools and equipment.
Identify and confirm requirements with the Contracts Administrator and the Project Manager to include reporting and invoicing obligations and other items that may affect the project’s set up in BillQuick.

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 1-5 years of related Level I Supply Chain Management experience
One (1) or more of the following certifications is desired:
Certified American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS)
Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals
Institute for Supply Management
Association for Healthcare Resources and Material Management (AHRMM)

Experience in analysis, development, updates, implementation, and maintenance of courseware
Knowledge and abilities to work with SCORM packages, Blackboard Learning Management Systems (LMS), Adobe Connect, Camtasia, Captivate and other LMS a plus.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a solid grasp of English grammar and usage.
Ability to work collaboratively with others and independently.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
